Arnold Schwarzenegger – “My dad hit me because he thought I was gay”

Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed a surprising revelation about his childhood – that his father used to hit him because he thought Arnold was gay.

He said in an interview with US TV: “He ran after me with a belt and beat me.”

It didn’t just stop with his father, apparently. Arnold said that his mother even asked the doctor for help because she thought that “something was off”.

Arnold elaborated: “I don’t know if mum thought I was gay, or if she just thought there was something off. And ‘let’s catch it early’. She asked the doctor, ‘Can you help me? I don’t know if there’s something wrong with my son because his wall is full of naked men. All of Arnold’s friends have pictures of girls above their bed. And Arnold has no girls.’”

Even though Arnold had those posters on his wall as a young man because of his passion for bodybuilding, it still shows a sad attitude that some have that being gay is something to be “corrected”.

Also during the interview, Arnold also talked about how he paid his housekeeper Mildred “Patty” Baena, when he learned that she was the mother of his son, Joseph.

Arnold was asked if Patty and Brigitte Nielsen were the only slip-ups he had during his marriage.

“No, I had others. I did feel bad about it. They were mistakes. This is my failure. My screw-ups. It’s something that’s between Maria and me. She knew. I’m not perfect.”
