Recently, we had some pretty interesting rumours circulating about the upcoming Game of Thrones season 7.
Thanks to the German website Bild, the web was hot with excitement over rumors that the Murder, She Wrote actress would be appearing in two episodes of Game of Thrones in the next season.
While Bild is a tabloid newspaper with a bit of a reputation for “notorious for its mix of gossip, inflammatory language, and sensationalism”, the idea of Angela appearing in a supposedly “minor” role in the hit HBO show seemed credible.
The Thrones cast is chock full of British stage and screen luminaries, and Lansbury herself is a well loved actress and has received an Honorary Oscars. Of course, there was also a good helping of wishful thinking as well, as people’s imaginations ran wild at the thought of Lansbury trading barbs with Olenna Tyrell.
At the time, Bild cited “production circles” but it seems their sources were sadly inaccurate as the team surrounding the actress told EW that there are no plans for her to appear on the show.
Still, we have Jim Broadbent to look forward to for season seven, who will allegedly be playing a “significant” role. Theories are currently running wild about what he has in store for us.
