In March, Caitlyn Jenner became the new face of H&M Sport. She is following that up with participating in a beautiful and influential new ad campaign for the brand. The new H&M video is narrated by Jenner and tells the story of various athletes who have struggled with physical, social or personal obstacles. Just in time for the Summer Olympic Games, the new marketing campaign is called For Every Victory.
Caitlyn Jenner said: “I truly believe in the power of sports to bring positive change to people’s lives. This is why I’m so proud to be part of the For Every Victory campaign, because it reminds me of the strength and bravery of people around the world to be their authentic selves and overcome any obstacles that may come their way.”
The video ad shares the journeys of incredible athletes, such as Mike Coots who lost his leg while surfing when he was attacked by a shark and Chelsea Warner, a gymnast who has Down’s Syndrome.
During Jenner’s narration, she states: “I thought it was too late. I thought the goal was too far away. I fought to belong and for the right to be different. I felt trapped by my body and by what others expected of me.”
But in the end, she triumphs: “I had to find strength within me that I didn’t know I had.” And she continues the inspiring message: “To keep going, no matter what the obstacles is what victory looks like, whether you’re representing your country―or yourself.”
