Ellen DeGeneres starts the 14th season of her show this week, and on Thursday’s episode she will interview Pulse survivor, Tony Marrero.
Marrero was recently part of MTV’s documentary, True Life: We Are Orlando. Marrero said that the event has changed his outlook on life and how he values his relationships. “Life is short. You need to appreciate everybody. You need to say I love you, be more open. Love is the best medicine.”
The MTV show, which premiered on August 15th, focused on “four brave survivors of the attack as they try to come to terms with the trauma and get their lives back on track.”
On the Ellen show, Marrero will talk about his experience on that tragic night at Pulse, his participation in the MTV documentary, and how he is doing now.
The Ellen show preview shares that his “story, recovery and positive attitude have touched Americans nationwide. Tony was shot multiple times in the back, and doctors have called his survival a ‘miracle’ because none of the bullets touched any organs or his spinal cord. While Tony was in the hospital he posted a picture on social media that said, ‘I’m Still Swimming, Ellen.’ Supporters have raised thousands of dollars to help cover Tony’s medical costs and additional expenses.”
Make sure that you tune in for Thursday’s episode.
