Madonna made it official that she will be having two new members added to her family.
“I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family,” Madonna wrote on Instagram.
Madonna already has four children– Lourdes Leon, 20; Rocco Ritchie, 16; David Banda, 11 and Mercy James, 11. Her 11 year old sons were also adopted from Malawi.
She also said: “I am deeply grateful to all those in Malawi who helped make this possible, and I ask the media please to respect our privacy during this transitional time,” she added.
The two 4-year-old girls, named Esther and Stella, were left parentless after their mother died and their father abandoned them.
Apparently, she felt like she owed a better life to these two children.
The judge who ruled on this case, Judge Fiona Mwale, said the singer was able to offer “a luxurious, spacious and comfortable abode in an affluent neighbourhood” in the US. The judge added: “Her charity work brings her into contact with orphanages… and it was as a result of this contact that she felt compelled to fill a gap in their lives and open up her home to them.”
