What do you get when you combine Neil Patrick Harris, Netflix, and a big production budget? Netflix is hoping it will be their next award winning series – “A Series of Unfortunate Events”.
The first season of “A Series of Unfortunate Events” is anticipated to premiere on Netflix in early 2017 with each episode encompassing two of Lemony Snicket’s books. The series is touted as Netflix’s most expensive production ever.
Neil Patrick Harris, who stars at Count Olaf, recently was a guest co-host on “Live! With Kelly” and spoke about the upcoming series, albeit without revealing too many secrets.
Harris said: “It’s a much darker take on the material that’s been seen before,” referencing the film that was made a decade ago starring Jim Carrey. However, Netflix is “trying to get four different demographics to like it.” The show is intended to appeal to children, teenagers, the 20-30 crowd, and adults over 40.
Harris also explained that he could not get into too much detail on the series at this time, nor could he release any photos. But he did say that the Netflix producers “have a plan…. I’m sneaking nothing just by saying its’ going to be fun!”
Back in April, pictures of NPH has Count Olaf surfaced and he definitely transformed into one seriously scary dude!
Well we can’t wait until next year to see Harris as Count Olaf; we sure hope Netflix will release a trailer sometime soon! Not doing so, would be very unfortunate!
