Nickelodeon Introduces First Gay Couple

“Time to make history.”  It’s what 11-year-old cartoon character, Lincoln said in a recent episode of The Loud House before introducing viewers to the first gay couple on Nickelodeon.

The episode was not actually about a gay couple, but instead focused on Lincoln’s best friend Clyde coming over for a sleepover.  However, when Clyde was being dropped off at Lincoln’s home, we met his parents and wouldn’t you know it – he has two dads.  In fact, his dads – Harold and Howard – are gay and interracial.  Why not?

Twitter has been buzzing about Nickelodeon’s “historic” gay couple, and the reactions have been mostly positive.  Nickelodeon, which first launched in 1979, is now available in nearly 100 million television households in the U.S. So let’s see how many viewers will tune in next time to see Harold and Howard make their follow-up appearance!
