The four members of Swedish supergroup ABBA have reunited to record two new songs.
In a statement on their Instagram account the band said: “The decision to go ahead with the exciting ABBA avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence.
“We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and that we had only been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!”
One of the two newly recorded songs, I Still Have Faith In You, will premiere in December in a special BBC/ NBC TV show and will be performed by their vrtual reality “digital selves” in the forthcoming avatar tour.
Apart from a private appearance in 2014 the group, who won the Eurovision Snog Contest with Waterloo in 1974, have not performed since 1986.
