Talk about a triple whammy of horrible. First Lemmy, then Bowie, and now beloved actor Alan Rickman.
His roster of films was truly impressive, ranging from Harry Potter, Die Hard, Truly Madly Deeply and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. That is only a small sampling of what we all know and love him from, so his death hits especially hard.
A statement from his family reads: “The actor and director Alan Rickman has died from cancer at the age of 69. He was surrounded by family and friends.”
Alan’s death has not only deeply shocked a wide variety of fans, his loss is being felt by many others who knew him in the world of film and TV.
Stephen Fry, another legend known for many things, had this to say: “What desperately sad news about Alan Rickman. A man of such talent, wicked charm and stunning screen and stage presence. He’ll be sorely missed.”
This is truly saddening, so I think this weekend we should all remember him by re-watching the film we loved him in the most.
