A woman from Nebraska, who describes herself as an ambassador of "God and his Son Jesus Christ", has filed a lawsuit against all the gay people on the planet and has asked a federal judge to rule on whether homosexuality is a sin.
In a seven-page handwritten petition, Sylvia Driskell, 66, quotes the Bible and compares Nebraska to the cities of Sodom and Gomarrah.
She also writes: "I never thought I would see a day in which our great nation or our great state of Nebraska would become so compliant in some people's lewd behaviour.
"Homosexuality is a sin and homosexuals know it is a sin to live a life of homosexuality. Why else would they have been hiding in the closet?"
Ms Driskell has not appointed an attorney and it will be up to the US District Court to decide whether or not to proceed with her case.
