Aubrey Plaza, who you may know as April Ludgate from the hilarious hit sitcom Parks and Rec, has done a series of interviews lately… And during one such interview, she discussed her bisexuality.
“I know I have an androgynous thing going on, and there’s something masculine about my energy. Girls are into me — that’s no secret. Hey, I’m into them too. I fall in love with girls and guys. I can’t help it.”
Plaza has a strong LGBT following and connection to the community. Her sister is also a lesbian.
We look forward to more from the actress, as she has been busy working on some new projects. In another recent interview she discussed her upcoming soon-to-be-released movie, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. She admitted how she had passionately courted this role.
“It’s rare to read scripts with female characters that are so dynamic and funny and crazy, and I became obsessed with it. So I hustled and kept pitching, ‘Wouldn’t it be great with me and Anna Kendrick?’ I just had a feeling that we could really commit to these characters and have a blast. And a couple of months later, Anna got offered the part. But I went through the audition process. I had to fight to get the part.”
She continued: “I gravitate toward women that have a lot going on — I’m not interested in one-dimensional love-interest characters anymore. These parts are being written more and more because people want to see that now, which is amazing. In Mike and Dave, our characters are just as crazy as the guys, if not crazier.”
Well, Aubrey sounds awesome and so does the movie. We can’t wait to see it!
