The company Axe, popular for their masculine body sprays and body washes, along with their humorous commercials, publicly shows their support for the LGBT community. In a Tweet that went viral this week, Axe jokingly announced that it was looking at candidates for floats during the Straight Pride Parade, concluding that they will “be at the parade that matters and this one isn’t it.”
Regardless of the mixed reactions, Axe stands and defends their beliefs. Axe’s parent company Unilever recently announced that they are also in support of LGBT rights, partnering with the Anti-Violence Project during World Pride which takes place during the Stonewall’s 50th anniversary. The Anti-Violence Project charity helps LGBT victims of hate crimes and violence who are in need of counseling and support. Way to go to all the companies standing behind LGBT human rights during an especially important month!
