Are you planning your wedding and looking for that perfect person to officiate the ceremony of an LGBT wedding? Have you considered asking Vice President Joe Biden?!
Biden recently officiated a wedding for two men, both longtime staffers of the White House. The ceremony took place at the VP’s official residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington, DC. The Vice President tweeted that he “couldn’t be happier” to perform the ceremony and Biden’s wife also tweeted that “Love is love!” after the ceremony.
It’s being reported that the Veep was allowed to officiate the ceremony because he received a temporary certification to do so from the District of Columbia.
As you may recall, Biden helped advance the current Administration’s pro-LGBT policies when he publicly exclaimed in 2012 that: “I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women and heterosexual men and women marrying one another are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties.”
Perhaps Biden has actually found a new gig officiating LGBT weddings after his time as VP is done at the end of this year!
