The British LGBT Awards are taking place on May 13th, and now we know who will be the hosts of the event: ex-Spice Girl Mel B and former Blue singer Duncan James.
These days, Mel B is probably better known for her role in America’s Got Talent, but now she has the prestigious honour of hosting the biggest gay awards show.
When speaking on the upcoming awards ceremony, Mel B said: “”I am really excited to be hosting the 2016 British LGBT Awards next month. It is a fantastic event that recognises the LGBT people doing wonderful things and the straight allies who give so much support to the LGBT community. I’m proud to be part of it. It is going to be a brilliant night filled with surprises and a glitzy guest list that is just fabulous. The British LGBT Awards is the hottest ticket in town.”
Sarah Garrett, the founder of the awards, had this to say: “With such brilliant hosts and some great awards up for grabs, the 2016 British LGBT Awards is going to be a night to remember.”
The awards are certainly going to be star studded, as we have the likes of Olly Alexander, Boy George, Paul O’Grady, Clare Balding, Cara Delevingne, ‘Great British Bake Off’ star Sue Perkins and Sam Smith nominated for awards.
