Caitlyn Jenner’s Lipstick Raises $1.3M For Transgender Support

While most in the trans community are less than thrilled with Caitlyn Jenner’s political leaning, no one can deny how much her newest endeavor is helping the trans community.

Jenner partnered with MAC Cosmetics in February to release a new everyday lipstick shade called Finally Free. All of the proceeds from the sale of this lipstick were designated to go towards MAC’s AIDS Fund Transgender Initiative.

“Transgender people have had unprecedented visibility in the last few years, but it hasn’t always benefited trans people, particularly those most in need,” Jenner has said. “With Mac, I’ve found a partner that demonstrates a real commitment to the funding of transgender specific organizations and projects. I’ve been granted an extraordinary platform, one built upon the work of countless, and too often nameless, trans people who came before me.”

And now, Caitlyn’s collaboration with the makeup brand has paid off big time.

MAC wished Jenner a happy birthday on Instagram and made a big announcement regarding the success of the lipstick.

“Happy birthday to our friend and collaborator Caitlyn Jenner! We are so proud of the impact made by her Finally Free lipstick for the MAC Transgender Initiative! All $1.3 million is going towards trans organizations around the United States like Glaad, LGBT Center NYC, and LA LGBT Center to enhance access to healthcare, economic empowerment and civil rights.”

The lipstick sells for $17, so we can deduce that the brand has sold over 75,000 Finally Free tubes, which is quite an achievement for this somewhat risky and costly makeup launch.
