Charlie Cinnamon Honored in Miami Beach

Charlie Cinnamon is honored in a new exhibit in Miami Beach. The exhibit is called “Charlie Cinnamon: Legendary Press Agent” and is at the Jewish Museum of Florida in Miami Beach’s Florida International University. Cinnamon was a press-agent to stars like Elizabeth Taylor, Johnny Carson, and Lauren Bacall, among others. However, he is most well-known for organizing one of the first AIDS fundraisers in 1984, which has raised over $1.3 million. He was a big part of the LGBT community in South Florida up until his death in 2016. His dear friend, Broadway producer, Richard Jay-Alexander, had a big part in putting together the exhibit in Miami, along with Curator Jacqueline Goldstein and photojournalist Manny Hernandez. During the announcement, Jay-Alexander said, “Charlie Cinnamon was one of the finest, most honest, hardworking human beings you could ever hope to know.”
