Chicago Gets Biggest LGBT-Friendly Affordable Housing Complex

The Chicago Skyline

Chicago is introducing the largest LGBT-friendly affordable housing units. The 88-unit complex will feature an outdoor picnic area, furnished lobby, and recreational community room. The complex will be named after John Pennycuff, an LGBT advocate who died in Chicago 6 years ago. Mayor Rahm Emanuel said the John Pennycuff Memorial Apartments will provide low-cost housing to individuals and families “from all walks of life.”
