In a truly glorious moment of schadenfreude, a Nashville Chick-Fil-A branch donated to an LGBT film festival and got an almost predictable response from evangelicals.
The LGBT film festival that the Nashville Chick-Fil-A donated to, is called Level Ground, who went on to list Chick-Fil-A on their sponsors list. This is technically true, but some took this as the corporation supporting LGBT people, and threw a fit.
The actual corporate head of the company has been very busy putting as much distance between themselves and this mess as possible, saying that they don’t “make decisions on local sponsorships.”
This hasn’t stopped some hilarious responses, however…
Oh, those tired old bible arguments. It’s almost as if Christianity is not the law of the land!
Next, we have something that several people seemed to enjoy, as they gleefully copy pasted it from each other.
It doesn’t stop there, though, as there’s even a petition created by someone Steven Policastro, called CFA Goes Gay, Corporate Needs to Know! If you’re after a chuckle, I suggest you give it a read. One particularly amusing excerpt is this:
“And upon further inquiry, your sponsorship of this organization supports pro-gay organizations such as:
-The Christian Closet (gay-affirming Christian counseling)
-The Center For Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry (promoting the gay agenda in Christian ministry)
-Therapists 4 Equality (LGBTQ Affirmative Therapy)
-The Reformation Project (an attempt to bring the gay agenda into the church’s theology)
-Believe Outloud (an organization to promote gender equality to Christian clergy)
and many other groups that promote an agenda which is contrary to Chick-fil-A’s corporate stance on Christian values regarding marriage and stewardship.”
Excuse me while I laugh into my morning coffee.
