Donald Trump Accuses Ted Cruz Of Fraud Over Iowa Caucus Result

As most of you probably know, Donald Trump lost to Ted Cruz at the recent Iowa caucus.

At the time of the loss, Trump seemed surprisingly gracious, saying: “We will go on to get the Republican nomination and we will go on to easily beat Hillary or Bernie. We finished second, and I have to say I am just honored.”

But, it seems that not long after, he discovered something that disturbed him. Just days after the loss at the Iowa caucus, Trump called for an investigation and new election to be held, due to supposed “fraud” committed by Ted Cruz and his followers.

Trump made the argument that Cruz deliberately spread rumours that opponent Ben Carson was going to drop out of the race. (He may as well have, as he only secured 8% of the vote.)

Apparently, Cruz’ staff members failed to hand out statements from Carson which confirmed that he was only resting before returning to campaign. Carson himself called the rumors out, calling them “dirty tricks”.

Cruz was even reprimanded by the Iowa secretary of state for deliberately representing election law.

Trump said on Twitter: “The Voter Violation certificate gave poor marks to the unsuspecting voter(grade of F) and told them to clear it up by voting for Cruz. Fraud. Based on the fraud commit-TED by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified.”

As satisfying as it is to see Trump’s salty tweets (below), it does seem as if there actually is something to Trump’s accusation. At very best, Cruz manipulated the system, or at worst misused it entirely. However, Cruz and his staff don’t seem to be taking Trump’s accusations very seriously.

The communications for Cruz said in a recent statement: “Reality just hit the reality star – he lost Iowa and now nobody is talking about him, so he’s popping off on Twitter. There are support groups for Twitter addiction, perhaps he should find his local chapter.”

However, as much as you or I may dislike Trump, it seems as if his accusations do actually have some basis and proof.
