Dr. Jen Walter seems to be in the habit of making history, as she was one of the first female players to be in a non-kicker position on a pro American football team and now she’s doing it again by becoming the first female NFL coach.
I don’t think that it’s unfair to say that the NFL is a veritable bastion of masculinity, so it was rather impressive when Dr. Jen Walter when she became running back in 2014, which was only achieved after 14 seasons of playing with Dallas Diamonds of the Women’s Football Alliance. Now, after coaching people for a few months, she has been hired to work with Ariona Cardinals’ inside linebackers during their camp and preseason.
Jen herself has managed to remain humble, despite her now making history twice: “I want little girls to grow up knowing that when they put their mind to something, when they work hard, that they can do anything regardless.”
Jen is probably one of the better role models out there, as not only does she have these achievements under belt, she is also highly educated with a degree in sports psychology and a PhD in psychology. You can check out her Facebook page here.
