Ellen DeGeneres Named People’s Choice Favourite Humanitarian

Ellen DeGeneres has been named People’s Choice favourite humanitarian, and will be presented with this honour tomorrow at the People’s Choice Awards 2016.

The much beloved comedian, writer and and producer has chosen a worthy cause to be the beneficiary of the $200,000 associated with the prize – St Jude’s ¬†Children’s Research Hospital.

Ellen joked in a statement: “I am so honored to be receiving the People’s Choice Humanitarian Award. I think it sums me up perfectly as I am both a human and an itarian.”

Walgreens, who present the annual donation, will also be donating an extra $1 for every CoverGirl, Pantene, Crest and Oral-B 3DWhite product purchased. This will include not only online and in store purchases, but also purchases made at Duane Reade locations.

As well as this, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been renewed for another three years with 10 NBC owned stations.
