Family-Friendly Chick-fil-A Protest in Deerfield, IL.

A family-friendly protest is set to commence on Thursday Nov. 14th in Deerfield, IL at the opening of the new Chick-fil-A. The chicken company has had a reputation as an anti-LGBT friendly company, sparking anger among LGBT community members who did not support their messages. Back in 2012, Chick-fil-A’s CEO, Dan Cathy, shared opinions against marriage equality, and since then the company has been known to support other Anti-LGBT organizations. In Deerfield, a protest was planned organically among community members, looking for support on facebook, not as part of a larger organization agenda. One of the co-organizers of the rally/protest, Carolyn Pinta, is making sure to point out that it is a peaceful and family-friendly (specifically for children) environment with an opportunity to express your opinions safely. Pinta stated that including young people in the rally “shows them that you have choices where you spend your money. You can spend your money in places that show love and acceptance for all.”
