The first gay dating show, Finding Prince Charming, is about to premiere on Sept. 8th on Logo, and there’s a bombshell already in the works.
One of the 13 male contestants will disclose to the lead bachelor, Robert Sepulveda Jr., that he is HIV positive on an upcoming episode. The rest of the cast, however, does not and will not know this personal information.
The reveal is slated to be a big emotional part of the upcoming show. It is reported that the producers have known about the HIV diagnosis all along and were supportive of having the contestant remain on the show.
It’ll be interesting to see how Robert reacts when he learns of the news and how long the contestant with HIV will last on the dating show. Finding Prince Charming has already wrapped up filming its season, so all will soon be revealed when the show is broadcast in September.
Host Lance Bass says: “This is a show that I would die to watch, so the fact that I get to host this is a dream come true.”
This show is an interesting twist to the old fan favorite, The Bachelor. Bass has said: “It’s a whole different ball game. There’s a chance that these suitors might fall in love with each other, so there’s a whole extra element in this layer of uncertainty that could happen in this house.”
Although the 13 contestants will be trying to win over interior designer Robert, they certainly could end up being more attracted to one another.
