Season three of House of Cards was, for me, a bit of a letdown. That’s not to say that it was bad, that would be a lie. But when you compare it to the first two seasons, which were absolutely stellar, season three is a bit of a mess.
But, I am still looking forward to season four. One slightly dodgy season isn’t enough for me to lose interest in what is, overall, a fantastic show with interesting dynamics and characters.
So Netflix definitely improved my morning by announcing that 13 new episodes will be hitting the streaming platform on March 4th. What made the announcement even better was how it was made.
After the fifth Republican presidential debate, an ad was shown, done in the style of a political campaign ad.
A narrator kicked off the ad: “It’s a new day in America. Today more people will go to work, return home to their families and sleep more soundly than ever before – all because one man refuses to settle, putting people before politics. That man is Frank Underwood.”
Then, Kevin Spacey himself appears: “America, I am only getting started. I am Frank Underwood and I approve this message.”

Let’s hope that season four of House of Cards is a return to form after a disappointing showing in season three.
