You may have seen the horrible hoax that Jack Black, lead singer of Tenacious D, had died.
However, following messages from fans and people close to the band seemed to indicate that this was yet another entry into the list of celebrity death hoaxes. Given the year we’ve had so far for legends dying, this was a particularly cruel one.
The band then confirmed via Twitter that Jack Black is alive and well, and it seems a hack was the cause of the tweet that started it all. The original tweet read: “It is with a heavy heart I am to announce that Jack Black passed away last night at 3:37am. The cause of death is yet unknown.”
WE had our Twitter account hacked. We can assure you that Jack is ALIVE and WELL and that this was a sick “prank”.

This is far from the first time that Jack has been the victim of death hoaxes, as it has happened twice before. Once in 2012 where it was alleged that he had fallen off a cliff in New Zealand and once in 2014 when he had supposedly passed due to a stroke.
