Kate Bush could find herself back at the top of the charts for the first time in 30 years as her her latest album, Before the Dawn, is currently sitting pretty at the top of the UK Midweek chart.
Before the Dawn is a live album which features recordings from her 2014 Hammersmith Apollo London tour, which has probably given it a bit of a boost. Fans eager to relive that experience, as well as those hungry for a new Kate Bush album, are clearly going out in droves to snap this one up.
However, the new album shouldn’t get too comfy on the throne just yet, as it is just 5,000 sales ahead of Little Mix’s Glory Days, so it is in danger of being overtaken.
The last time that Kate Bush found herself at the top of the charts was in 1987 with The Whole Story, when yours truly was only one year old. (Sorry, did I make you feel old?)
The top five for the midweek chart also includes names such as Michael Ball and Alfie Boe’s Together in third, Elvis Presley’s The Wonder of You in fourth and Starboy by The Weeknd in fifth place.
We also have another blast from the past on the album charts this week with Busted, who have their first studio album in 13 years in the top 10. (What year is it?)
Let’s hope that Kate can keep a hold of the top spot! You can find the full top 10 below and the full top 40 here.
