Keke Palmer Doesn’t Want to Be Called Gay or Bi

Keke Palmer doesn’t want to be called day or bi. In fact, the singer and actress wants to shun all labels. Her sexuality came into question when she recently debuted her music video for her song, I Don’t Belong To You.

In the beginning of the video, viewers see Keke leaving a man by crawling out of his bed getting dressed. After a sexy shower scene, she dresses in skimpy lingerie before driving to a different house and knocking on the door. The audience is surprised in the last scene when they realize her next rendezvous is with a beautiful woman.

Many were left wondering if Keke was indeed gay or bisexual, and if this video was her way of coming out to her fans. While she is addressing the gossip now, she refuses to give a definitive answer because she feels that there doesn’t need to be a label on her sexuality or anyone else’s.

“The video was to represent the young woman today – it’s not the traditional woman anymore – and not the specifics of ‘Am I gay? Am I straight? Am I bi?'” the 22-year-old tells PEOPLE. “I’m making the rules for myself, and I don’t have to be stuck down to one label.”
