Kim Davis needs no introduction, she made herself infamous by being a huge blockade to same-sex couples wishing to get married in Rowan County, Kentucky. Many people called her out on her hypocrisy, stating how she herself had been married multiple times and had committed adultery.
Now, Davis herself has spoken out on her failings in marriage. When speaking to the Associated Press, she said: “How ironic that God would use a person like me, who failed so miserably at marriage in the world, to defend it now. The Lord picks the unlikely source to convey the message.”
“No one would ever have remembered a county clerk that just said … ‘Even though I don’t agree with it, it’s OK. I’ll do it.’ If I could be remembered for one thing, it’s that I was not afraid to not compromise myself.”
Davis has another two years before she will be up for re-election, but the much derided figure does not know if she will run again.
“If I were a politician, I would probably jump on that and grab it and growl. But I’m not a politician. I very much enjoy my job.”
If anything, these quotes from Davis show her truly arrogant core. She truly believes that she was “chosen” by God, which is simultaneously narcissistic and also shucking any responsibility for her actions.
