Pop legend and gay icon Kylie Minogue will headline this year’s Brighton Pride, it has been confirmed.
Brighton Pride said: “2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Inn uprising that ignited the Pride movement and we are thrilled to announce our headline artist for Pride in the Park on Saturday 3rd August is Miss Kylie Minogue, a true icon and ally of the LGBT community who is also celebrating her 5th decade.”
This will be Kylie’s very first appearance at a UK Pride event, although she has appeared at Sydney’s Mardi Gras.
Other artists already scheduled for the celebrations are Clean Bandit and Grace Jones.
Kylie is the latest of big name bookings for Brighton Pride.
Last year Britney Spears headlined the main stage at Preston Park, following an appearance by the Pet Shop Boys the previous year.
