A while ago, we discussed how Madonna had been granted permission from a judge to end the custody battle over her son, Rocco.
According to the New York State court system, Madonna and Ritchie have reached an agreement over custody, but did not reveal with which parent Rocco will live. However, according to Ritchie’s lawyer Peter Bronstein would continue to live with his father in London.
As we’ve discussed previously, the dispute over custody began when Rocco ignored a court order which told him to return to New York and live with his mother. He has since remained in London with his father, and has even enrolled in school there.
Back in December, a judge decided that Rocco should return to his mother, but did not issue a warrant to enforce the ruling. Instead, she argued Madonna and Ritchie to come to an agreement on their own.
“If they cannot resolve this matter then eventually the court will.” New York State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan said.
According to Ellen Sigal, the court-appointed lawyer for Rocco, said that the court battle was causing him stress: “”It’s been a very difficult time for him. We hope to put an end to this as soon as possible without exposing him to more litigation, press innuendo, any of that kind of thing.”
At the moment, there has been no comment from Madonna’s lawyers.
