Veteran director Woody Allen is turning his talents towards TV, and Miley Cyrus has confirmed that she will be starring alongside him.
This series will be a six part show, with each episode clocking in at 30 minutes, set in the 1960’s. The show, which does not yet have a name, will be showing on Amazon’s streaming services.
Miley has said that she is “stoked” to be working alongside both Woody Allen and actress Elaine May.
Whether or not the show will be any good is yet unknown, even by Allen himself. When speaking about the project in May last year, he said: “I’m doing my best with it, but I should never have gotten into it. I thought six half-hours would be a cinch, but it’s not. It’s very hard. I’m not good at it, I’m floundering. It could be a cosmic embarrassment. I just hope I don’t disappoint Amazon.”
According to Deadline, shooting will begin in March, with the show set to premiere on Amazon Prime later this year. Amazon do have a good history with their shows, having won an award for their hit show Transparent.
So here’s hoping Allen’s fears are misplaced.
