New York To Host World Pride 2019

New York City has been officially chosen to host the World Pride event in 2019.

This event will be held in conjunction with Stonewall 50, which is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.

David Schneider, who is director of NYC Pride’s Stonewall 50, had this to say: “The Stonewall Uprising is considered the most significant event that ignited the modern LGBT rights movement, so it makes perfect sense to bring WorldPride to the birthplace of Pride in 2019.”

Obviously, this particular Pride event is quite a ways away, so for those of you wondering about next year; Madrid will be hosting the next World Pride in 2017.
