Add two more to the list…
Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato have cancelled their joint concerts in North Carolina in protest of the state’s discriminatory law. The two were scheduled to perform in Raleigh and Charlotte.
Jones explained: “It’s incredibility difficult for everybody and the situation there is unfortunate… But Demi and I and our team, we talked about how we could make the biggest impact. We felt that this was the right choice…. (Demi and I are) fully understanding of the fact that it would be disappointing for our fans who were looking forward to the show but really hopeful that our decision moves towards a change. And hopefully, they fall in unity with us, but we’re aware of the fact that it’s just disappointing and it’s just a tough situation overall.”
The two join a growing list of entertainers, as we have been reporting, who have already cancelled shows, or refuse to perform in the future, in North Carolina until the state overturns the state law that openly discriminates against transgender people.
