No Support From West Virginia for Equality Bill

The Senate Bill introduced this week is meant to extend the protections from the Civil Rights Act and the Fair Housing Act to the LGBT community. This bill would prohibit discrimination for sexual orientation and gender identity in the areas of housing, employment, and public accomodations.

Unfortunately, none of the politicians representing the state of West Virginia at the federal level signed on to cosponsor the bill. This includes the single Democrat that didn’t sign on, Sen. Joe Manchin, and Republican Sen. Shelly Moore Capito.
