One Million Moms is probably a name you’re familiar with and now, they’ve gotten themselves into a tizzy about ad from Zales, a major jewelry brand. In this ad, a same-sex couple is briefly featured.
One Million Moms have reacted rather predictably to this ad, which is part of Zales’ “We Believe” campaign, and have called for their supporters to boycott the company.
While the advert in question was uploaded earlier on this month, One Million Moms posted their outrage on Monday and accused Zales of “glorifying sin”.
The post reads: “Zales Jewelers should be ashamed of attempting to normalize sin by featuring two women getting married in their latest commercial. Zales is promoting same-sex marriage and their new ‘Love and Pride’ Collection. The ‘Love and Pride’ wedding band collection, designed for the LGBTQ community with rainbow and matching bands, is ‘promoting Equality, Diversity, and Unity’ and “celebrate their Love with Pride” as stated on their website.”
“Zales is using public airwaves to subject families to the decay of morals and values, and belittle the sanctity of marriage in an attempt to redefine marriage. Even though homosexuality is unnatural, this advertisement is pushing the LGBTQ agenda.”
“Zales crossed a line that should have never been crossed … Zales is glorifying sin, and no sin should be placed in the spotlight and honored. This goes for homosexuality as well.”
As was mentioned, the group is calling for a boycott of the brand. However, they are also asking people to contact Zales directly to let them know of their disapproval and they are even calling for their supporters to go into Zales stores and complain to managers who have no control over advertising about the inclusion of the same-sex couple.
One Million Moms have complained about other advertising from companies such as Campbell’s and American Girl Magazine, and they even campaigned against the Muppets Show. Their campaigns have very rarely yielded any results, but they have claimed victory over ads being pulled from the show Impastor.
At the moment, Zales has not responded to their complaints from the conservative Christian group, and we will update you if that changes.
