Prince’s Ex-Wives Speak Out About His Death

Prince’s death came as a shock to his fans and everyone that loved him. No one was more surprised or more devastated than his ex-wives.

Prince’s first wife was Mayte Garcia. She was the world’s youngest professional belly dancer. Prince eventually hired her to dance as part of his tour, and they began a relationship shortly thereafter.

She was the inspiration for his 1995 song, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, and the two married on Valentine’s Day 1996.

Unfortunately, the couple suffered a terrible tragedy, and their son, Boy Gregory, passed away after only one week of life due to a rare genetic disorder.

The stress of such a trauma on the couple played a part in their separation. Prince and Mayte Garcia eventually had their marriage annulled in 1999.

Garcia came forward recently in a statement and said: “I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He’s with our son now.”

She added: “This man was my everything, we had a family. I am beyond deeply saddened and devastated.”

In 2011, Prince met and married his second wife, Manuela Testolini. They met while she worked for one of his charities. Prince was 43 at the time, and Testolini was 24.

The couple was very private and kept their personal lives under the radar until they broke up in 2006.

“Prince and I had a magical journey together and I loved him immensely,” Testolini has said. “I knew him as a husband, friend and fierce philanthropist.”

She also said that she was in contact with him recently. “I just reached out to [Prince] a few days ago to let him know that I was building a school in his honor. My heart aches that the school will now be built in his memory.”
