The remake of the classic Rocky Horror Show is already looking interesting, with Laverne Cox, Queen frontman Adam Lambert and Tim Curry.
Sadly, but not exactly surprisingly given his health, Tim Curry will not be returning as Frank-N-Furter. Instead, this role will be taken on by Laverne Cox, who I can totally picture smashing out that role.
Adam Lambert, who has been touring with the remaining members of Queen in honour of Freddie Mercury, will be taking the role of Eddie. This character was played by Meatloaf last time around, so he’s certainly got big shoes to fill.
I’m sure some of you are wondering what role Tim Curry will be having, since he won’t be playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Instead, he will be serving as the film’s narrator.
Adam Lambert spoke on the role, seeming rather excited to take on this remake: “I grew up watching Rocky Horror but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision. Rocky Horror always made me feel like it was OK to celebrate my weirdness. Hallelujah, bless my soul! I love that old time rock ‘n’ roll!”
The other confirmed stars are Broadway star Reeve Carney as Riff Raff and Staz Nair as Rocky.
Let’s hope they get this right, no one wants to see Rocky Horror Picture Show added to the list of desecrated classics.
