Planet Coaster, the long awaited revival of RollerCoaster Tycoon, has been praised by fans for introducing LGBT families into the mix.
If you grew up with games, you probably need no introduction to RollerCoaster Tycoon. It entertained people for years with it’s charming theme park simulation, where you build your own theme park and try to attract guests and keep them happy.
Fans have been calling for a return of the classic franchise for years, so many of us were thrilled to hear about Planet Coaster hitting the shelves this year.
Even though the game is not even out yet, but it’s already been gathering praise from old fans and newcomers alike for it’s introduction of LGBT families and same-sex couples.
The developers of Planet Coaster, Frontier Developments, has said that the title is “the future of coaster park simulation games.”
They have also said that they have “created created a living world where every guest is an individual with their own personality. We’re building a connected global village where everyone can share in your creativity. And that’s just the start.”
What makes this new addition even better, is that the developers haven’t made a fuss of it at all. They haven’t even made a comment on their decision to include LGBT characters, which is something that is definitely earning them some extra brownie points.
One Reddit user posted: “This is the kind of nonchalant representation that makes me so damn happy. It’s just there. No big deal. And yet, even so, it means a lot to have it there. Also this game looks hilarious.”
Planet Coaster is due out June 2016 on PC. You can see the gay couple at roughly 0:25 in the preview trailer below.
