Resident Evil the film franchise is undoubtedly popular, having made a staggering $909,346,841 over the course of seven films. So some, including myself, are a little skeptical of just how “final” this entry into the series, Resident Evil The Final Chapter, is.
Only time will tell if Resident Evil rears it’s head in the movie industry again, but RE: The Final Chapter is busily collecting actors to star in it. The latest to join the ranks is Orange is the New Black favourite, Ruby Rose, who stole a lot of hearts when she appeared as Stella in the most recent season.
She will be joining the cast, which so far consists of Milla Jovovich returning as Alice, Iain Glen as Dr. Isaacs, Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker and Ali Larter as Claire Redfield. Also confirmed are Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James and Rola.
The plot of the film is probably not going to win any prizes, but it does seem set up to be a true final entry into the franchise. Alice and her allies will have to return to Raccoon City, where it all started and take on the comically evil Umbrella Corporation.
Resident Evil The Final Chapter will be released February 24, 2017.
