So, the question is: do you want to give your hard earned dollars to companies who are anti-LGBT rights, or would you prefer that your money goes to those companies that support you back? We have compiled a list of the best LGBT friendly companies and retailers. Let’s encourage them to continue doing what they are doing to support the LGBT community!
You will be hard-pressed to find a company that backs the gay community more than American Apparel. They are the ones who designed the “Legalize Gay” shirts and put transgender models on another line of LGBT friendly shirts.
In March 2015 Gap and Levi’s issued a joint statement condemning a law in the state of Indiana which could allow business owners to refuse LGBT customers.
Gap has also partnered with GLADD to create emotional and powerful videos of gay employees coming out.
Levi’s released a line of Pride themed shirts and hats in 2014 to show its support of the LGBT community.
Three of Adidas’ most famous shoes got painted rainbow colors in 2015 to be part of their “Pride Pack.” A portion of the sales from these shoes went to New Avenues for Youth, an advocacy group focused on homeless LGBT teens.
As you probably know, Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, is openly gay, and thousands of employees participated in 2014’s Pride events.
In 2015, the company designed an ad featuring a gay couple. They released a statement saying that the company believes love comes “in a variety of forms.”
As you may already know, Starbucks is hugely supportive of the LGBT community. Not only has it released commercials featuring drag queens, we recently reported how many Starbucks’ cafes are safe havens for victims of LGBT related violence.
