Star Wars Episode VIII Delayed To December 2017

A bit of sad news for Star Wars fans today, as Star Wars Episode VIII has been delayed until December 2017.

In case you weren’t aware (although you probably were), Star Wars Episode 7 was originally meant to come out in May of that same year.

Sadly, no official reason was given but it could be that due to the absolutely huge access of The Force Awakens, they might be shifting the release date of the next installment to keep the same pattern.

It could also be that summer of 2017 is absolutely packed with monster releases that would probably give even Star Wars a run for it’s money.

Let’s not forget, in May 2017 we have Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and a new Pirates of the Caribbean film and in June we have Wonder Woman and Despicable Me 3.

So, it could be a dual movie: get Star Wars away from an already excellent looking summer release schedule, and try to repeat the Christmas success of Episode 7. Of course, there is always the possibility that the film just needs more time in order to be polished.

Either way, at least we have Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to look forward to this year.
