Things To Do In London This Weekend |September 25-27

Looking for something to do this weekend? This is your definitive guide which will come every week, telling you what’s happening this weekend. As you know, this can range from one off events, long running events, or just cool places or good clubs to visit.

For something very different, we have the London Tattoo Convention, taking place at the Tobacco Dock from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September. Ticket prices are £20-£30 in advance, £25-£35 on the door, £55 weekend pass and accompanied under-14s are free.

The London Tattoo Convention is described as an “An annual body art festival packed with the best in the business”, with more than 400 of the world’s most talented tattoo artists attending. For more info, go here.

We also have The Street Feast taking place, which is held at Dalston Yard on Hartwell Street. This is happening both Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September, from 5pm until midnight, with free entry until 7pm. After that, it will cost you £3 for entry.

The Street Feast is described as “The tempting line-up of street food favourites includes flavour-packed Korean burritos from Kimchinary, delicate Taiwanese buns from Bao London, crisp fried chicken from Spit and Roast and juicy burgers from Mother Flipper, among many others.”

For a bit of culture, we have Merge Festival, which is taking place at various Bankside locations. Entry is free, and this is festival is running from 12 am every day, from Thursday 24th to Thursday October 1st.

“Highlights will include a light and sound show that’s programmed using participants’ brain data from the team who produce visual effects for The Chemical Brothers and Metallica, a bioluminescent chamber of wishes created by Bompas and Parr, an outdoor gallery that brings pedestrian crossings to life and a caravan theatre outside the Tate Modern.”

Next up is a gig from band Wet, an R&B outfit playing at the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch. The band’s take on the well-hashed R & B is genre has a relaxed, 80s pop approach, so expect a rather chilled affair. Tickets are free with an RSVP.

Now moving on to the alternative. Let’s begin with the single, solitary gig taking place this weekend.

Returning once more to our shores we have familiar faces Winterfylleth, who will undoubtedly put on a stormer with their brand of British black metal at the O2 Academy Islington. Get tickets here.

Bar wise, this week I want to call attention to Voodoo Rock, which is taking place on Friday on Torrens Street. Entry is £5 with a flyer, or £7 otherwise.
