Looking for something to do this weekend? This is your definitive guide which will come every week, telling you what’s happening this weekend. As you know, this can range from one off events, long running events, or just cool places or good clubs to visit.
Let us begin with something that sounds very different indeed: FILTH At VAULT Festival. This is an underground silent disco with two different DJs… and an X-rated adult themed channel.
“A silent disco with a naughty twist. Seek beneath the shadowy caverns and ye shall find a downright dirty event for even the wickedest of pleasure seekers, thanks to the filthy proprietors of Time Out.”
This unique event is taking place on Friday at The Vaults near Waterloo, and will cost you £16. To get more info and book tickets, head here.
For a gig outside my usual remit, there is Girls Names at The Lexington on Friday. This group are described as “dark post-punk soundscapes with occasionally excursions into motorik synth fuzz”.
Tickets are pretty cheap at £10, so get more info here.
Next up is something much more up my alley, the Theatre of Beer in Clapham on Friday. This event features live music, food vendors and course – beer. With 50 cask beers, 100 craft beers and a craft cider bar, there is something for even the pickiest of beer snobs out there.
Tickets are £10 advance / £15 on the door, so get some details here.
If you’re into your house and techno, then Sista Sista at Corsica Studios near Elephant and Castle.
“We’re celebrating two years of parties at our favourite club south of the river, Corsica Studios.
Super tight line up across the club:
Tickets are currently on their second release and cost £10, so get them here.
If R&B is more your thing, have no fear, Supa Dupa Fly has you covered.
“Expect 90s & Noughties Hiphop from 2Pac, Bigge, Lil, Kim, A Tribe Called Quest, DMX, Busta, Outkast, Jay-Z, Kanye & Luda. R&B from Beyonce, Aaliyah, TLC, R Kelly, Missy, Brandy, Kelis, Usher, Destiny’s Child, J.T & more too! We throw in the odd new jam too, salute Kendrick, A$AP & Drizzy!”
So, basically, they’re playing R & B and Hip Hop from when those things were actually good. Where do I sign?
This is taking place on Saturday at the Ace Hotel London Shoreditch, so if you’re interested then head over to their website.
It’s that time again! Let’s take a look at any alternative gigs and nights that are happening this weekend.
Thankfully, there are actually some shows taking place this weekend.
First up is Symphony X, who will be playing alongside Myrath and Melted Space at the Islington Assembly Hall on Friday.
So if you like yourself some prog, then I suggest you act fast. At the time of writing, standing tickets are sold out so grab yourself a seating ticket for £22 here.
If that isn’t loud enough for you, we have Katalysm playing at the Underworld on Saturday. They will be joined by Septic Flesh and Aborted, so truly a cracking line up if you like your death metal.
They’re asking £2o for this stellar lineup, so get tickets here if you’re interested.
I’d like to finish up my giving special mention to folk metallers Ensiferum, who are playing 02 Academy Islington on Thursday 25th.
They will be joined by Metsatoll and tickets are £25.90.
Well, that’s it for this week, have a good weekend!
