In case you don’t know, Men’s Health magazine conducts what they call the Men’s Health Ultimate Guy Search, which has the goal of finding someone who encompasses the qualities found in the supposed “ultimate” man, which includes being both kind and health conscious.
The competition this year, though, is a little bit different. For the very first time a transgender man is in the lead, a contestant by the name of Aydian Dowling. So far, Aydian has received a staggering 70,000 votes, which puts him a solid 50,000 votes ahead of his competitors.
The results of the search won’t be revealed until July 16, and the winner will get the honur of being on the front cover of the November issue. Readers votes only count for 10% of the criteria in the contest, and you can see tons of support from all sorts of people.

The final count will be taking place today, so while we won’t find out for a while, Aydian could become the very first transgender winner of the Men’s Health Ultimate Guy Search.
Dowling wrote, via his submission to Men’s Health: “As a Transgender Male, having a healthy body and mind is my ultimate goal to find peace within my soul. Although I may always have some kind of battle with my body, I continue to work everyday for a happy peace within.”
