As you might know, the GLAAD Media Awards 2016 took place recently, and there was an announcement made at the ceremony by Jill Soloway: season three will feature Caitlyn Jenner.
She will be appearing in scenes alongside Jeffrey Tambor, which will be filming later on this month. The rest of the third season of Amazon’s hit show will be later on this April.
Love her or hate her, there’s no denying that Caitlyn is one of the most visible transgender women right now, which was shown with her tie for a GLAAD Award with Jazz Jennings.
Jill Soloway spoke about Caitlyn’s appearance in Transparent with the Associated Press, saying: “We are all part of the same community. A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show, I am Cait. Lots of crossover. Lots of friends.”
She also went on to call Caitlyn’s appearance a “dream come true”. Of course, Jill has made it no secret that she is a fan of Caitlyn, as she gushed about her not too long ago in an interview with People.
Jill said at the time: “She’s the most famous trans woman on the planet, she’s in the most famous family on the planet. It’s a blessing. There are so few out trans role models. I liken it to when you’re a little kid and you want to cross the street, but the highway’s too busy and so everybody holds hands and walks across together.”
Amazon has yet to officially confirm Caitlyn’s appearance in season three of Transparent, nor have we had any comment on what role she is in, or even how many episodes in which she will feature. Keep your eyes peeled for more information.
