Piemonte knows how to please the international travelers with a first-class tourism offerand a friendly welcome to every tourist. Torino offers the perfect balance of characteristics. You can walk into an historical café or under the legendary 18 kilometers of arcades admiring designer shop windows, local craftsman and artist shops. Take your time to visit colorful markets like Porta Palazzo, the biggest outdoor market in Europe, or attend a world-class sport event in the modern Olympic facilities. Go shopping and enjoy its cutting-edge art-music-movie festivals.

Torino boasts. Art and culture lovers will enjoy Torino’s must-see 80 museums, first of all the world-renowned Egyptian Museum whose exhibit has been named the world’s most important outside of Egypt. Then the Museum of Contemporary Art at Rivoli Castle, one of the outstanding Royal Residences UNESCO.

No wonder that Torino, birthplace of the FIAT, is home to the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile, with a dazzling collection of over 200 cars – everything from an 1892 Peugeot to a 1980 Ferrari 308.

The Juventus Museum, an entire museum dedicated to football team history, is also to be seen.

Birthplace of aperitif and vermouth, Gianduiotti chocolate and grissini bread sticks, no matter where you eat, in Torino the Piemonte culinary tradition is a top-class experience thanks to exquisite “trattorias” and Michelin-starred restaurants.

From “the City” to Lake Maggiore, the second largest lake in Italy, famed for its beauty and mild weather, is a tourist destination with an undisputable hospitality tradition. Here visitors can stay at the many chateaux which have been turned into hotels and B&B’s, or at a luxury hotel and wellness center. The three Borromeo islands – Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori – the jewels of the lake – are famous throughout Europe for their spectacular garden landscapes with over 2,000 different plant varieties. Don’t miss the Orta Lake with its more discrete setting, perfect for slow, relaxing walks, and the charming Orta historic village, with its local craft shops and delicatessens lining the narrow streets and stairways leading up to Baroque churches and to the Sacred Mount.

Unsurprisingly, the Lake district is a well-known international same-sex wedding location.

From the Lakes to the Vineyard Landscapes of Langhe Roero and Monferrato, UNESCO World Heritage List since 2014, Piemonte is to discover along the Wine Trails and the Cheese and Honey Routes through medieval hamlets, castles and wine cellars open to wine tastings and gourmet experience. But the true star of the table is definitely the Alba White Truffle, Piemonte’s “white gold”, which mainly grown in the Langhe region and on the Monferrato hills. This journey through the inimitable pleasures of Piemonte’s foods and wines cannot end without savouring chocolate and PGI hazelnuts, the precious rice varieties and delicious cheeses.
