US Marine Admits Choking Trans Woman In Philippines

Another transgender murder has occured, this time in the Philippines, as a US Marine has admitted to choking a woman to death after he discovered she was transgender.

He spoke in a Phillipines court today, claiming that he acted in “self defense”. Private First Class Joseph Scott Pemberton, the Marine in question, said that he met Jennifer Laude and another transgender woman back on October 14 and brought them back to his motel. According to him, the woman (who was only identified as Barbie) performed oral sex on him and left.

Further according to his testimony, Jennifer then began to also perform oral sex on him, when he reached between her legs and felt a penis. Pemberton then became angry, and later said that he felt like he was being raped “by a man”. He then pushed her off the bed, but Jennifer began slapping him in the face.

Harry Roque, the lawyer for the victim’s family, posted about the case via Twitter.

Pemberton’s mother naturally came to her son’s defense in a statement last week, saying that he does not discriminate against LGBT people as his sister is a lesbian.
However, there is a detailed report that claims Pemberton repeatedly referred to Jennifer as “it”, and even said “I think I killed a he-she”.

Pemberton has been charged with murder, and faces up to 40 years in prison if he is convicted.

You can find the detailed report here, but it is not for the fainthearted.
